Getting Creative

This is a great addition to the LensBaby line, and allows you to get creative in a lot of new ways.The product is made up of two distinct parts, the Scout Lens Assembly, and the Fisheye optic.The Scout lens assembly works with all your LensBaby optics, focuses smoothly and is well built and solid. Unlike the Composer or Muse, this unit does not bend, flex, or twist. When you use optics with a sweet spot of focus, that sweet spot will always be perfectly centered.The real joy here, comes from the 12mm Fisheye Optic, however. Unlike most LensBaby Optics, it is sharp from edge-to-edge, and that feature means it works great with the Scout Assembly. It will work with the other lens housings, but benefits from their unique features less than other optics do, as the point of being able to move a sweet spot of focus is a bit lost if all spots are the sweet spot. The main features of the fisheye optic are the incredibly sharp edges, the round field of view, and the intentional light leaks that allow for great unexpected creative effects that make it a real joy to have and to use.Highly recommended for users who don't mind focusing manually and setting aperture in that unique LensBaby fashion...

Good lens

This is a good lens for a very reasonable price. I was looking for a fisheye for an effect lens, not an every day shooting experience. I am pleased with the decision, and it was well worth the price paid. Since the lens is strictly manual focus I may upgrade my camera's focusing screen to help with the up-close shots. Some more info for people thinking about this lens: It does have minor corner vignetting on an aps-c sensor, full frame cameras will have a circular fisheye effect, it can focus on things as close as .5", items more than 6' away will be in the infinite focus range so focusing is easy at moderate distances.Enjoy

Biggest Bang for your Buck

I shoot with a a Sony A65 and shopped around for a Fish-eye Lens. I was debating on dropping the $850.00 on a Sony lens or the $650.00 on a sigma but am happy i didn't at this point in my photography career. I dropped the 250.00 and went with lens baby and couldn't be more satisfied with the fish-eye lens. It is very fishy! although it is manual focus, which i actually prefer, it is one hell of a deal if you are going for the fish-eye look for cheap!
