Manual Focus teleconverter

I purchased this teleconverter for my Sony A200 even after researching the pitfalls of what others say about teleconverters in general. For me it does not work with auto focus. I found it to be an excellent macro adapter and even a great teleconverter for my two kit lenses. Some people find color fringing on their photos but I have not. I would agree with another reviewer in saying that you shouldn't expect to use it on moving subjects. Overall I think of this product as another tool in my photography bag which allows me to get 600mm (manual) when I need it.

This is a great product if you don't have the money to spend on a more expensive lens. I bought this to take closer wildlife pictures, and it has worked well. There is some color fringing in really high-contrast areas (see the customer image I uploaded), but under more average contrast conditions, they aren't noticeable, and I was able to fix this example pretty easily with photo editing software.I showed the original picture to my wife and she didn't even notice anything wrong with it, but anyone who knows what to look for will definitely notice it. A better master lens might also mitigate that problem, but I've never seen any color fringing on my lens without the converter.Also, as others have pointed out, you need good lighting and manual focus. I've still managed to snap some fast-moving subjects, but it takes a little planning and practice, doing it the "old school" way.Do I still wish someone would buy me an expensive 600mm lens? Sure, but I'm happy with this one for now.
