great for beginners

I recently purchased this a few weeks ago. I am quite happy with it. This is my first add-on lens ever. I love the fisheye effect and have been playing around with it. It's easy to attatch and dettach. It even has a macro lens built it, so you can get closer to a subject. The only negative thing I would say, is that you cannot use the flash, because the lens is in the way, so all you get is a shadow, so you'd have to get a add-on flash. And if you plan to travel around with it, it is bulky, so you'd have to keep attaching and dettaching it.But other than that, I am really happy with this lens. It's a decent price, compared to the ones on the Canon website. I would suggest this for beginners of photography, or if you're like me, just like that fisheye effect. It really gives a wide angle view.

Well Worth the Price

I bought this lens for shooting pictures of me and my friends biking with my Canon A590IS digital camera. Spending only 30 dollars, I did not expect much. However, what I got was better than what I expected. There is a significant increase of the field of view when this lens is attached. The macro capabilities are great, I can get less than an inch away with this lens and still get a good picture. The quality of the shots is not superb, but it's well worth 30 bucks. Sharp at center, definitely softness close to the edges, but not until you get close.Just a note, do not be misconceived that you will need to purchase an extention tube for this to fit on you A570/A590, one is provided. It is made of aluminum, but is not a perfect fit on the camera mount, it can move around, but isn't so loose that it shakes or anything. It works. Also 67mm and 58mm converters are included (which allowed me to use it on two of my DSLR lenses, but I doubt I ever will due to the picture quality).Overall, I think that this lens is well worth the purchase, and is very fun to use.

I love this lens it's great for taking pictures and I have had good shots. Thing is when you use the flash it leaves like dark shadows sometimes SO I suggest getting an external flash or using it outdoors mostly.
