This is Rokinon's newest fisheye lens for Nikon. It features some great new features that are not available on Rokinon's first highly rated 8mm f/3.5 fisheye lens. Optics and glass are high definition (HD) with very clear & sharp images. This lens also features a removable hood which will make it easier for use on full frame cameras. While this lens is designed for APS-C sensors, full frame users can now use it without the hood. On APS-C cameras like the Nikon D5100/D3200/D3100, the pictures will fill the entire frame or screen. On full frame cameras like the Nikon D4 & D800, the lens will produce pictures with a semi-circular image and close images will appear proportionately large for a dramatic effect.

Auto Aperture Chip for Nikon

This lens works with all of the settings on my Nikon D5100 from the automatic exposure modes and special effects settings to all of the manual modes - I can get a "live view" on the camera LCD screen. The pop-up flash works. All I have to worry about is the manual focus.

Excellent Bang for Buck!!

You get what you pay for in a good way with this lens. It's the least expensive fisheye you're going to find, but the money you spend is for great glass and you make up the cost with "sweat equity". There's no autofocus and with the angles you're working with it can be a struggle to get things sharp, but if, like me, this isn't your primary lens it's an inexpensive way to add this nifty tool to your kit.I've used this on both a crop sensor D90 and full sensor D600 with great results. It really is built for a crop sensor camera and on the D90 fills the frame as expected. But, I like it best on the D600 because when I take the hood off I get almost a full circle which gives me more cropping options.This lens comes under several brand names, but they're all made by the same Korean company. So just pick up whichever one is the cheapest when you're ready to buy. It's predecessor had a non-removable hood and while I never used it I recommend this one over that because of the added auto-aperture chip and the additional functionality removing the hood offers on a full frame camera.To give a little background on my perspective. I'm not a "pixel peeper" so folks who are I can't speak to that level for this lens, but I do take my photos to 2:1 ratio in Lightroom and if I've done my work right with the lens I have nice, sharp photos.
