Using a quality (Telescope Grade) tripod, I am able to take fantastic pictures of wildlife. This is not a point and shoot lens, it requires photographic skill and a steady hand to use it well. If you don't know what all the "Manual Settings" on your camera mean, then this is not the lens for you.The Rokinon 500mm f6.3 that was delivered to me feels well built, and has a smooth focus adjust with the perfect amount of resistance. Many aspects of this lens lead me to believe that it was well thought out and designed. The 90 degree turn focal adjustment acquires quickly, but makes pin pointing the focus difficult. The clarity and sharpness from a steady and well focused shot is better than I expected. With most digital cameras, setting the ISO to 200-400 will allow the ability to free hand shoot with this lens on a bright day.The Nikon F bayonet ring that came with mine is not a perfect fit. It has just a touch of wiggle after locking in place.
