Decent long lens in a small package

If you want to get really close to something this lens will do it inexpensively and in a small package. The only disadvantage with a CAT lens is the lack of adjustable aperture. This makes for some loss of options, but to get this much magnification in such a compact package makes it a heck of a deal.You MUST use a tripod with one of these. There is no way to get a sharp image out of this short a lens any other way.

Tricky to use

Overall, I'm happy with the purchase, but it's not a standard sort of lens, so there are obstacles to overcome. I expected it to be manual foucus, but the control seems a bit corse to get the actual focus perfect. In bright sunlight it gathers a LOT of light, so glare is an issue, especially with bodies of water. Some kits come with a rear filter, I skipped that. The front polarized filter is 95mm, should get it soon.
